Goldeneye - James Bond Theme Arrangement

We started working on an updated version of the Bond theme for Joe Nimziki at MGM early in 1995 before Goldeneye was finished or the movie trailer had been cut. We were in a unique and exciting situation because we had been given the assignment of bringing the Bond theme into the 90's. Fortunately we were given lots of artistic freedom because the picture of the Goldeneye Teaser was to be edited to our music arrangement.

We wanted to give the theme a sense of mystery and tension that would break out with tons of energy that suits the action that Bond films deliver...

We were also fortunate because the picture was totally music driven with no dialogue and FX to compete with (except one line ... "Bond, James Bond!!!") so the music was relied upon to give the trailer it's impact.

This campaign for Goldeneye was recognized with several awards including: Key Art Award, Telly Award, London International Advertising Award, and Chicago International Film Festival Award.

Our arrangement of the theme was also used in the Bond campaigns for Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough.
