Maggie
Thematically, we wanted to write something fun and jazz influenced. We demoed many different themes and the producers ended up liking a trio based motif featuring piano (Starr Parodi), bass (Andy Simpkins, Joel Hamilton & Dave Stone), and drums (Tom Walsh & Bernie Dresel of the Brian Setzer Orchestra).

The story centered around Maggie (Ann Cusack, Grosse Pointe Blank), Dr. Richard Meyers (John Slatterly, "Sex in the City"), and Maggie's botched marriage to her lovable but definitely nerdy husband Art .
The reason we chose the direction of jazz piano in a trio setting was that we felt the intricate voicings and upbeat swing feel reflected the quirkiness and complexities of Maggie's character. This show was a blast to do... we had the chance to have a jam session every week, and then hang out with the producers at the mix who were hysterically funny.
