Winter / Spring 2004

StueyStarr & Jeff recently finished scoring New Line Cinema's feature film Stuey. It stars Michael Imperioli of "The Sopranos" in a wonderful & emotional portrayal of Stu Ungar, the World Series of Poker Champion, and is a movie about his life's story. The film which was written and directed by A.W. Vidmer has really connected with audiences and won several awards in film festivals around the country & abroad.

"The Division", Lifetime's popular drama for which Parodi Fair wrote the theme and The Divisionscores the episodes each week is in its 4th season (Starr & Jeff have been writing the music for the last 3) and new episodes can be seen Sunday nights at 9pm et/pt on the Lifetime Network. "The Division" stars Bonnie Bedelia, Nancy McKeon, Lisa Vidal, Taraji Henson, Jon Hamm with new addition of Amy Jo Hanson to its cast this season. In addition to working with many wonderful musicians on the score such as grammy nominee Wayne Bergeron (trumpet) & Peter Maunu (guitar), Starr continues to play the piano on the sessions.

They were honored by BMI at the latest Film and Television Music dinner with an award for their work on "The Division".

The DivisionIn January Starr & Jeff were asked to be a part of a joint venture between KORG Keyboards and Apple computers to participate in giving several lectures on film/television scoring & post production at USC's Annenberg School of Music for students and educators from around the country.

Warner Brothers' Film trailer The Last Samurai featured one of Starr & Jeff's compositions called "The End of the Beginning" ( a co-composition with Aeone). Their compositions were also heard in trailers for the following films: Universal's The Hulk, Columbia Picture's Hellboy, Once Upon A Time In Mexico & Identity, Disney's Cold Creek Manor & King Arthur, Paramount's The Italian Job, Artisan's The Punisher and Miramax's Kill Bill Vol.#1.


Die Another DayParodiFair is very pleased to announce the release of the James Bond Theme that they arranged, performed and produced originally for the Goldeneye Theatrical Trailer. It has been included in the compilation "The Best Of Bond" just released this September on Capitol records in association with MGM Music. Their version of the theme was also used in the movie trailers for The World Is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Die Another Day as well as appearing on the Goldeneye DVD.

Starr & Jeff are just preparing to start their second season composing music for the hit Lifetime Show "The Division". (They scored 22 episodes for the production last season as well). The DivisionThe show is a one hour drama airing on Lifetime on Sunday eves at 8 PM and centering on the lives of several detectives & their police division in San Francisco, California. One of the highlights for Starr is the diversity of doing the underscore for the show as well as playing the piano on the pre-records for one of the reoccurring characters who is a jazz pianist.

In addition to "The Division", ParodiFair scored several theatrical trailers including New Line Cinema's I Am Sam, Stephen King's Dreamcatcher, Jerry Bruckheimer's Kangaroo Jack, Blade 2 for New Line Cinema, and MGM's A Guy Thing and Die Another Day. Their music was used in a new theatrical trailer for "BMW" and they scored music for "The London Air Show".

Their compositions were also heard in trailers for the following films: MGM's Die Another Day, Columbia Pictures' Panic Room, Universal's Brotherhood of the Wolf, Dragonfly and The Scorpion King, 20th Century Fox's Life or Something Like It and Unfaithful, and MGM's Crocodile Hunter and Windtalkers. A piece from their Audio Poetry collection co-composed with Aeone was featured on an episode of "Witchblade".


Summer / Fall 2001

Spy GameThe summer got started for ParodiFair by being asked to score movie trailers for Zoolander starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, John Q. starring Denzel Washington and Robert Duvall, and Spy Game with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt.

GhostworldOver the summer three of their compositions were featured in the critically acclaimed United Artists film Ghost World starring Thora Birch and Brad Renfro.

Over the course of the next 3 months Starr & Jeff's music was heard in the following film campaigns: Universal Pictures Jurassic Park 3 and Captain Corelli's Mandolin; 20th Century Fox's Glitter, and the independant productions of Donnie Darko and South of Heaven, West of Hell.

They also produced, arranged and re-recorded the 1950's hit "Shake A Tail Feather" which will be featured in a Universal Pictures / Coca-Cola sponsored tribute to Dance in the Movies that will be airing before features in theaters for the next several months. The piece features three singers: Louis Price (The Tempations), Billy Valentine (Five Heartbeats) and Philip Ingram. The rhythm section featured drummer Bernie Dresel (Brian Setzer Orchestra), bassist Larry Ball (Smokey Robinson), guitarist Peter Maunu (Narada recording artist) and of course Starr on the piano. The stellar brass section featured Nick Lane (Phil Collins, J Lo, Rod Stewart) on trombone, Lee Thornberg (The Tonight Show) on trumpet, and Dave "Rev" Boruff.

They have been asked to score the weekly 1 hour drama "The Division" for Lifetime Television and have been working on thematic and groove ideas to set the musical tone for the show. The stories center on women in the police force and have extremely compelling storylines that will provide interesting scoring opportunities for them to explore. The new season will premiere in January 2002.

Jeff and Starr also recently scored the trailer to I Am Sam for New Line Cinema.


Winter / Spring 2001

Do You Want To Know A SecretThe year started with ParodiFair writing the music for the theatrical thriller Do You Wanna Know A Secret? which stars Joseph Lawrence (Urban Legends:Final Cut) and Chad Allen ("Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman"), and was directed by Thomas Bradford. (The film is currently released on DVD and video at Blockbuster)

Sex Lies & ObsessionImmediately following Do You Wanna Know a Secret? they were asked to score the Lifetime dramatic telefilm Sex Lies & Obsession which stars Harry Hamlin ("L.A. Law") & Lisa Rinna ("Melrose Place") and was directed by Douglas Barr. Based on a true story, it is a tale of deception, temptation & sex addiction. It's first airing was on May 7th, on the Lifetime network and will continue to air throughout the year.

After the success of last years London Air Show short film entitled "24 Hours" it was great for Starr & Jeff to get a call to compose music for this years Paris Air Show which, along with London's, is the largest in the world.

Their music was also heard in several film campaigns including: Paramount Pictures' Along Came A Spider, Tomb Raider, and The Score; New Line Cinema's 15 Minutes
